Carnaza, 20/11

Each morning we have the same procedure: reading our lists of totally and partially damaged houses and than verify the bags to distribute.

After that has been done, we want to leave for Condionesio, a very small village. We decide to deliver everything in one single trip: 200l of water, food, fishing gear, tools, clothes and tarpaulins. The bags are ready, but we don’t know yet how to get them ashore. Suddenly a local motor boat is approaching. We are asking where they come from and find out that they are from Condionesio!!! As it happens so often, the help we need just arrives at the right momentand they agree to helpus with the transportation. As the waves are too big, we cannot go to the village itself. We unload the goods in a safe bay around 1km away.

Together with the locals we carry everything by hand to Condionesio. Cesar has 81 years and his small house has been ripped in pieces. Courageous he is following us carrying more than 10kg on a hilly road. It is only close to his home that he is wanting to accept some help. We know that he is the reason why we are here.
He lost everything and is not able to rebuild his house on his own. Despite all the circumstances, Cesar and his wife never stop smiling.

While the people are still choosing their clothes, we decide to leave before night, avoiding getting lost.

On our way back we are passing through Liog Liog where the second part of the distribution takes place.

We are just in time to assist the beginning of the mess that takes place in a small church. The priest often mentioned us in his speech and it seems that he wants to encourage them to help each other more. We are asked to introduce ourselves and to tell them what made us coming here to Carnaza. Remy has a small word for Cesar and is asking the people to get together and help Cesar rebuilding his home before our departure. Before leaving we are going to see if there has been something done by than.

After the church it is time for the distribution. As Remi is still suffering from a fever we decide to leave before the end of the event.

We are leaving during the distribution of slippers. It is funny to see young kids that are not used to wear any shoes and struggling to walk straight.
